I remember Ricky’s humour, her love of art, good food, and good company. But most of all, I remember and loved her enthusiasm for people, people of all backgrounds. It felt like she wanted to engage, share with, and learn about everyone. What a joy it was to share time with you, Ricky.

I first met Ricky when she taught me research methods as part of my BSc(Hons) Nursing degree at the Royal College of Nursing. He ability to teach and engage us on a subject many of us struggled with was both inspiring and fun. It certainly set me on the road to further studies and ultimately influenced my decision to undertake a PhD. Post being Ricky's student and when she moved to London - we spent a year committed to going to the Theatre everyone month - alternating between us who made the 'choice' to see what - this was such a fun year - and I saw many a play that I otherwise would not have chosen to see - so always the teacher - Ricky demonstrated a zest for learning, fun and friendship - I am all the richer for knowing her. My deepest condolences to the family as I know a large hole will be left by her departure but truly hope that you will be able to draw on all of the positive and warm memories that have and will be shared with you. As the saying goes..."If you can leave the planet a better place" - no question Ricky you achieved this in many many ways!

Beloved friend. Role model. Inspiration. Advisor. The most generous host bringing people together. Happiest of memories around laden dining tables. We will miss you but those many happy moments will live forever.
